Dual Care and HIV Prevention Initiative Holds Sensitization Program For Children, Adolescents Affected By HIV, AIDS

Pastor Mrs Roseline Alabi, Executive Director, Dual Care and HIV Prevention Initiative says efforts is on to ensure that no individual in the State is infected or die by reason of HIV and Aids as directed by Gov. Yahaya Bello.

 

The Executive Director made the disclosure at the August Monthly Nutritional Support Program for Children affected by HIV/AIDS, lamented the increasing rate of HIV infection in the State.

praised the State Governor for the constitution of Board for the control of HIV/AIDs where she was appointed as chairman, a feat that has enabled her fight against HIV and Aids scourge.

Mrs. Alabi expressed worries with recent lifestyle where people seems to have forgotten that HIV still exist, desclosed that HIV/AIDS is still in communities.

While pointing out that recent desclosure shows that people now fail to engage in protected sex, with people not using sterilize equipments, said HIV is still in place, with anti retroviral drugs as reasons for reduced transmission and boost of immune system, urged for the use of condoms and abstainance from risky behaviours.

The Executive Director described the August Monthly Nutritional Support as one set aside for sensitization of children and adolescents affected by HIV and AIDS, said the opportunity would provide platform to educate them on issues and questions bothering their minds about the disease.

The Executive Director used the program to assure the affected children and adolescents that with constant taking of their medication, eating good food and engaging in exercises, they would live long and a healthier life.

The Executive Director showered glowing praises on Amb. Jumoke Tijani, Personal Assistant to the Secretary to the Kogi State Government and Hon. Sandra Mimi, Special Adviser to Dual Care and HIV Prevention Initiative for her monthly support for the affected children.

The Executive Director equally thanked Engr. Folorunshi Olafemi for his keen interest in showing support for vulnerable children, solicited his support for the monthly program.

Highlights of the sensitization program was health talk, nutritional support and money for the affected children.
