A former commissioner, Federal Independent Electoral commission (INEC), His Royal Highness Dr Emmanuel Onucheyo, has commended the Ata Igala, HRM Mathew Alaji Opaluwa Oguche Akpa (111) for the restoration of the Italo festival and for the massive turn-out of attendance during the recent celebration held at the Prince Abubakar Audu University stadium, Anyigba.
While commending the Ata for great success achieved during the 2022 Italo festival, Dr Onucheyo called on all Igala to unite for a common goal.
Chief Dr Onucheyo who is a member of Ata – in – council/ Royal Councilors , as a decision making body , said their functions specifically entailed the deliberations on issue before passing it to Ata for his final endorsement.
Dr Onucheyo advised the youths to avoid been used as thugs by politicians and remained focused to pursue their desired goals.
He then encouraged the youths specifically to devote their maximum time to learn the Igala language so that they would be able to impact it to their next generations.
He expressed his happiness over the revival of Italo which had been suspended for the past eleven years.
He therefore called on Igala to embrace more solidly the issue of unity which he observed as the strong weapon of progress and development.
