Conscience for Human Rights and Conflict Resolution has called for the probe of the donation of 50 vehicles claimed to have been made to the Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Abubakar Malami.

Recall that 50 vehicles 30 Mercedes SUVs and 20 Toyota Prados were recently donated to Abubakar Malami by unknown persons and with clear reason.
According to a press statement issued by the Executive Director, the claim by the Attorney General and Minister for justice. Abubakar Malami for what ever reason must be investigated by the relevant Anti- corruption institutions and Agencies in Nigeria.
He said the issues to be determined by the investigation is for for what purposes was the vehicles donated, and Who are those friends who made the donations.
He asked that the investigation must unravel the names of the friends, their addresses and means of livelihood.
The Activists lamented why a serving Minister would be giving such donations, particularly that he has not even officially declare for any known political office or paid for nomination form any known or recognized political party in Nigeria.
Comr. Miliki pointed out that as the number one law officer lamented how the Minister can justify the kind of unwanted and fraudulent gift from unknown friends.
He called on Abubakar Malami to without further delay publish the names, Addresses and his relationship with the faceless friends who made the donation as well as the value of the vehicle.
He noted that if the Attorney General could accept such type of gift or donation, call to question the anti- corruption status of the present government.
Comr. Miliki called on EFCC, ICPC the Nigeria Police, Code of conduct bureau and other relevant institutions to investigate the gift made to the Minister and prosecute all those involved through the relevant laws, disclosing that the Attorney General and Minister for Justice is a public servant and can not be above the the law that he is appointed to protect.
