For the past few months that the preparations for Kogi state governorship elections gained momentum and all participating political parties began to field different candidates from across the length and breadth of the state, there’s a need to identify the candidate who has had broader legislative experience and the candidate is no other person than Senator Dino Melaye of the People’s Democratic Party.
Dino, a name synonymous with activism remains one of the best candidates lined up for Kogi state governorship election which will take place on November 2023.
Dino Melaye did not just find himself to be the flag bearer of the opposition People’s Democratic Party; his record and achievements as a one-term member House of Representatives and two-term Senator paved the way for him to be elected in an election where he won with a wide margin.
Melaye constantly played a leading role in the activities that seek to address injustice and he has remained the voice of the voiceless even though his manners of speaking for the oppressed Nigerians seem to be crude, he has remained one of the most celebrated legislators while in office and after.
He did not only speak and fight for the people at the National Assembly, but Melaye also matched his oral agitation for improved welfare of Nigerians with visible projects that cut across his constituency in Kogi West.
