Desist from using the council to give awards – Kogi NYCN chair warns


 

Following the resolutions from the Joint Account Committee JAC, of the National Youth Council of Nigeria(NYCN) Kogi State Chapter, the Council boss, His Youthfulnes, Usman Ogohi Samuel has placed ban on awards and any other form of recognitions through any member of the council.

The chairman, during the Joint Account Committee (JAC) meeting stressed that the privilege has been seriously and serially abused and has caused the council in the state loss of its integrity, image and the noble ideals it stands for.

According to him, “award presentation by any member of the National Youth Council of Nigeria Kogi state chapter under my watch seizes to continue”.

He added,” A house without rules and regulations stands to fall apart, we can’t continue the same thing expecting a different result, as such the NYCN is guided with rules and regulations and as such, they must be strictly adhered to”.

The chairman emphasized, “On no account must the standard and image of the Council be compromised, hence, I and my executives will ensure that the right thing is done and uphold at all times, the appropriate security operatives are duly put on notice and shall be communicated to officially in due course” he said.

He further stressed that any Kogi Son and Daughter or well-meaning Nigerian that sees any award letter from any chapter of NYCN Kogi state without the stamp or seal of the council should be considered as fake and such persons should be arrested as their intention is to smear the image of the council also adding that officers of the Council found culpable will be appropriately punished.

Individuals and philanthropist across all spheres of life, he added can invest in the council not necessarily in cash but in kind, through empowerments and jobs opportunities of the teeming youths of the state who are very educated and capacity field to deliver in any sector.

Ambassador Ogohi further disclosed that the National Youth Council of Nigeria Kogi State Chapter shall make public through various media when the council is ready to honour well deserving individuals or organisations that has continued to uplift and alleviate the sufferings of youths in the state and outside the state with awards when necessary.

He also harped on the need for peace and unity to be maintained across the 21 Local Government Areas of the state, adding that no society can attract meaningful development without peace.

The Forum thanked the executive governor of Kogi state his excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello for providing social and infrastructural amenities in the state and also upholding peace and security in the state.
