DEMOCRACY DAY: OSITE TELLS NIGERIAN YOUTHS ‘NO YOUTH, NO DEMOCRACY’, URGES ISSUE-BASED POLITICS

DEMOCRACY DAY MESSAGE

I Comrade Ibrahim Osite joined Mr. Mike Abu and the Chief Editor, Nigerian Post known as ‘The Nation at NUJ Centre Lokoja.

Democracy is government of the people, by the people, and for the people. It thrives when citizens actively participate in shaping the future of their nation.
The youth remain the backbone of every democratic society. Indeed, no youth, no democracy.

Young people play a significant role in nation-building and are the driving force behind meaningful development and transformation. They have consistently contributed to the successes recorded by both past and present political leaders.
Therefore, youths should be seen and empowered as leaders of today, not merely leaders of tomorrow.

The future begins now, and the energy, creativity, and commitment of young people must be harnessed for national progress.
I urge Nigerian leaders at all levels to design and implement concrete programmes that will empower, develop, and transform our youths across various sectors of the economy.

I also call on Nigerian youths, especially those from Kogi State and particularly my constituents, to be more actively involved in politics while shunning bitterness, thuggery, intimidation, violence, and tribalism. Let us embrace issue-based politics, unity, peace, and development for the betterment of our communities and our nation.

NO YOUTH, NO DEMOCRACY!

Happy Democracy Day to you all.
Happy today jumaah to all Muslims

Signed:
Comr. Ibrahim Osite
