Decamp And Lose Your Seats – PDP Youth Leader Cautions 60 PDP Reps Members.

The Youth Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party has sent a caution note to the sixty Reps members of the party, the PDP, against dumping the party over the call for the acting National Party Chairman Umar Ilya Damagum’s resignation, threatening to dump the party if he fails to resign. In a statement made available to newsman in Abuja on Wednesday, the PDP youths leader said “the sixty lawmakers should be informed that the People’s Democratic Party is a party with laid down rules and sancrosant constitution guiding the party’s affairs as well as the new electoral Acts that empowers Speaker of the House of Representatives to declare their seats vacant if their reasons for dumping the party is at variance with constitutional provisions. It is on this note that I advise the sixty lawmakers to follow the due process to address their grivieances as any attempt to dump the party for another party is tantamount to losing their seats.

The youth further said, “Our party PDP is not factionalised, neither is the party forming a merger with another political party. Any other reason apart from these two provisions of the law,has empowered the Speaker to declare their seats vacant and we will mobilize heavily to the National Assembly to ensure the Speaker carries out this act promptly to declares the lawmakers seats vacant and to ensure INEC conducts fresh elections to fill those Federal constituencies”

We join our voices with that’s of the PDP governors, who are major financiers and pillars of the party and further advise the lawmakers to thread with caution not to be misled into such self-destructive adventure”

The coming 2027 general election is a brighter opportunity for our party to restore the lost glory of our dear Nation and party. We cannot allow the selfish interest of selected few to truncate our road to recovery. We stand firmly on the position of the Minority Leader, Hon. Kingsley Chinda and we salute his doggedness and courageous position and as a matter of urgency and necessity, it is imperative to call for a disciplinary action against the sixty reps without further delay.

We reiterate our stand that if any member leaves his seat will be occupied by another.
