Muslims in Kogi State have been asked to take the advantage of the ongoing continue voters registration to get registered as it is there right as citizens and to vote in the forthcoming general election.



The National Headquarters of Jamaatu Nasril Islam, represented by Alh. Misbahudeen M. Raji, the ICT Officer, JNI National Secretariat, Kaduna, gave the charge at a stakeholders meeting with the leadership of Jamaatu Nasril Islam in Kogi State, urged the JNI to mobilize members to get registered at a critical stakeholders meeting on CVR and other related matters held in Lokoja .

The JNI expressed worry about citizens reluctance to get registered, reason why it has become necessary to work with JNI leadership of States to remobilize Muslim ummah.

The JNI disclosed that it is the right of the Muslims as Nigerians to be registered as well to vote in credible leadership in the forthcoming general election, reason why the sultan of sokoto and president general of Jamatul Nasir Islam Alhaji Sa’adu Abubakar gave the directive for the mobilization.

While pointing out that there has been a call following the increased number of people seeking to get registered for an extension, called on INEC if need be, to extend the date for registration, however urged the Muslims in the State to take the remaining days left before the closing date of 31st July, 2022 to get registered.

He expressed gratitude to the Kogi State JNI leadership for already taking the bull by the horns in ensuring that there members are coming out to get registered, described the action as a morale booster for the JNI.

Earlier in a welcome remarks, the JNI leadership, led by Amb. Usman Bello, promised to redouble efforts towards making members take part in the ongoing registration.
