
CRPP Condemns Governor Okpebholo’s Handling Of Ekpoma Crisis

The Coalition of Registered Political Parties,CRPP, has berated governor Monday OKpebholo on the way and the manner the government handled the protest that took place at Ekpoma in Esan West Local government area of the state.
The party calls for the immediate release of the students who were arrested in their various hostels at 3am by the security agencies.
According to a release signed by the chairman Dr.Samson Isibor said the party at their first meeting this year January 2026 deliberated on the economic, political and social developments in Edo State.
They also condemned the hijacking of the peaceful protest by hoodlums who turned the peaceful protest to violent, destruction of properties of innocent citizens particularly the Enogie of Ekpoma Palace. It is condemnable and unwarranted.
The CRPP blamed the style of governance by Governor Monday Okpebholo for not being proactive to the longtime cry of Edo citizens against the taken over of our bushes, farms, highways by the terrorists, bandits and killer herdsmen.
He stated further that they now have the temerity to enter the towns and villages to kidnap our people from house to house. It is horrendous and this is a state that has a Governor.
In addition the party condemned the government for not paying Edo Security Network, ESN, since their inception or equipped them for the risk Job they are doing .
Isibor queried, “How can the government employ people for security work without being paid and never put the name In government payroll? We advise the government to put them on special payroll by placing them on salary ranging from &100,000 to N200,000 per month. They should also be insured, this will motivate them to be able to confront the deadly terrorists.” He stated .
The party urged the government to do everything possible to ensure that they drive away all these killers and ransom collection terrorists.
