COUNTDOWN TO DEC. 12 ELECTIONS: KOSIEC MEETS WITH ELECTION OBSERVERS, WARNS ON SOCIA MEDIA REPORTS.

Countdown to the Chairmanship and Councillorship elections in the state, the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC) on Thursday 11 December, held a meeting with accredited election observers cautioning them on channelling their reports through the Social Media.

The Chairman of the Commission Hon. Mamman Nda Eri who gave the caution stressed that observers should under no guise air their observations and reports on the Social Media; saying they should rather forward comprehensive reports to the Commission at the end of the exercise.

He said information gathered at the end of the election would be well managed, explaining that they would be used for improvement on future elections in the state.

Hon. Eri also directed the Kogi NGO Network (KONGONET) the umbrella body under which all observers would serve to issue a release in capping up the assignment.

The meeting marked the forum for assigning observers to their respective areas of coverage and the distribution of election materials by the Commissioner in Charge of Research and Documentation Hon. Labaran Oyigebe.

Present at the meeting were the Secretary to the Commission, Hon. Ozovehe Enesi, Member in Charge of Media and Publicity, Alh. Yakubu Chogudo and Member in Charge of Budget/ Planning Hon. Funsho Olorunfemi.

Other Honourable Members of the Commission at the meeting were Bar. Umar Makun, Alh. Musa Adamu and Hon. Abdulkareem Jamiu; in charge of Legal Matters, Works and Feedback respectively.
