In recognition of his impactful outstanding Legislative service as a senator of the federal republic of Nigeria representing the central senatorial District of kogi State, Senator Yakubu Oseni has been presented with an award for the most outstanding Senator from kogi state.
The State executive of Confluence 21 Forum led by the coordinator Comrade Jerry Benjamin presented the Award to the Senator in his office at the Senate chamber of the National Assembly complex in Abuja.
While speaking on the rationale behind the Award presentation the state coordinator of the forum Comrade Jeremiah Benjamin spoke extensively on Senator Yakubu Oseni laudable performance which necessitated the Award.
He stated that The Award is born out of the forum sincere desire to encourage good governance in kogi state, stating that Senator Oseni is the first person to be given an award of Excellent performance by the forum as a senator because he has truly distinguished himself by proving to be outstanding in his duty to his constituents and has made the youths of the state proud with his performance within the last three years in office.
He noted that Senator Oseni was single out among his pears for the award because he has done so well for his people and the forum decided to give him the Award in other to encourage him to do more.
He extolled the senator for his various landmark constituency projects especially the ICT / CBT Center in okene which was recently commissioned by the Senate President saying that the center is about the largest of its kind in the country and its well stocked with the best of ICT facilities in the world.
While speaking to enlighten the senator on the Forum objectives Comrade Jerry disclosed that the forum was established to promote good governance and to foster Unity in the state irrespective of tribal, religious and political affiliation that the common objective is for all kogite to see themselves as one.
He further disclosed that the members are drawn from every polling units, wards and local governments areas to render support for each other to grow in any area of endeavors.
He used the opportunity to introduce the secretary of the forum Engr. Suleiman Aminu Adaira to the senator intimating him of the secretary intention to contest for house of representatives position within kogi central senatorial District.
In his respond for the award Senator Oseni said in the early days of his assumption of office he has to turn down several requests from associations who wanted to give him awards because he was determined to concentrate on his assignment to his people. But haven’t been able to commissioned some of the constituency projects he embarked upon he has opened up his door to receive awards for the good work done by him
He noted that the award is not just an appreciation for what he has done so far but equally an encouragement to urge him to do more and therefore pledge to do more to the best of his ability for the people of kogi central.
The Senator at the occasion appreciated the forum for the unity of having members across all the local government in the sate and for being devoid of tribal, religion and political sentiment and commend the forum for standing up for good governance of the state.
