To:
His Excellency,
Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, FCA
Governor, Kogi State
Your Excellency,

I write with profound admiration and appreciation to commend you for your sustained leadership and constructive engagement with the Federal Government, which have culminated in the approval by the Federal Executive Council chaired by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the total reconstruction of the Abuja–Lokoja Highway, including the rehabilitation of the long-neglected 86km deplorable sections of the corridor by multiple contractors including Julius Berger.
This outcome represents a significant step toward addressing a critical national and regional infrastructure challenge that has affected safety, commerce, and mobility for many years.
Your purposeful advocacy and coordination with relevant federal authorities, leading to the successful submission of this very important Highway by the Honourable Minister of Works, His Excellency Sen Engr David Umahi Nweze, demonstrate effective intergovernmental collaboration in the public interest. The Abuja–Lokoja Highway is a strategic arterial route that connects key regions of the country, and its reconstruction will improve travel efficiency, enhance road safety, and stimulate economic activity across Kogi State and neighbouring states.
This approval also reflects the broader infrastructure renewal drive of the administration of President Tinubu’ Renewed Hope Agenda. Within this national framework, your successful intervention on behalf of Kogi State underscores the value of persistent, evidence-based advocacy and partnership between state and federal institutions.
Furthermore, Your Excellency, I respectfully pray for the continuation of this engagement with the Federal Government on other important federal routes and assets within the state that require urgent attention. These include the Itobe–Ajaokuta–Okene Federal Road, the Lokoja–Shintaku Bridge, the Lokoja–Shintaku–Dekina–Anyigba Road, as well as the Kabba–Ilorin and Kabba–Omuo–Ekiti Federal Roads, among others. The rehabilitation of these corridors will further strengthen Kogi State’s role as a gateway for trade and movement and will contribute meaningfully to socio-economic development.
As your Special Adviser on Federal Projects Implementation in the State, I always feel highly elated whenever your administration attracts one Federal Government project or another for the benefit of our people. I wish to assure Your Excellency of my continued commitment to the diligent discharge of my responsibilities and to performing my duties to the best of my knowledge and ability in support of your development agenda.
The people of Kogi State are equally pleased that, under your watch, the attention of the Federal Government is being consistently focused on the State for good. They remain hopeful and confident that more developmental interventions will follow as you continue to engage and advocate for Kogi State at the federal level.
Your Excellency, please accept this letter as a formal expression of appreciation for this notable achievement and for your continued dedication to infrastructural development and effective governance. We remain confident that, under your leadership, further progress will be recorded in addressing critical development needs across the State.
Please accept, Your Excellency, the assurances of my support, solidarity, partnership and loyalty, now and always.
Yours-in-service
Chief Hon Emmanuel Obasi JP
Special Adviser on Federal Projects Implementation, Kogi State
