City Elders National Leadership Inaugurates FCT Executive

The importance of elders in any society cannot be overemphasized. Given their critical role in fostering order and guiding moral direction, their contributions have remained invaluable since the evolution of human civilization.
In recognition of this, the City Elders of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) chapter officially inaugurated its executives on Saturday, March 21, 2026. The ceremony took place at the Nigeria National Merit Award House in Maitama, Abuja, and attracted participants from across Nigeria and as far as the United States of America.
In his opening remarks, the African representative of the City Elders, Evangelist Jeremiah Adeleko who presided over the inauguration alongside other leaders, explained that the organization was originally established in Tulsa, United States. He added that it is registered in Nigeria with the Corporate Affairs Commission as the Christian Association of Nigeria City Elders and has expanded to about nine states, including the FCT.
He described the City Elders as a non-denominational association of believers known for integrity and righteous living, whose mission includes interceding for the cities in which they reside. He referenced Proverbs 29:2 (NKJV): “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice.”
Delivering a goodwill message, the Presiding Bishop of Sound Zeal Prayer Ministry, Bishop Solomon Anyanwu, congratulated the newly inaugurated executives, describing the event as a significant step toward achieving the group’s mission. He urged them to carry out their responsibilities in accordance with scriptural principles and to promote unity among members in the FCT.
In her acceptance speech, the Chairperson, Princess Adaobi Roseline Ofodile, expressed gratitude to God and the organization for entrusting her with the leadership role. She emphasized a commitment to collective effort in ensuring that the divine purpose for the Federal Capital Territory is fulfilled.
The highlight of the ceremony was the administration of the oath of office to the newly inaugurated executives.
