Question
How do you venture into Yoruba traditional music style, known as “Ewi”?

Answer
It is only God that understand the phenomenon because I cannot give a vivid answer to this. My brother traveled to Ibadan in Oyo State when we were still in Primary School and bought a Yoruba traditional music (Ewi) done by Olarewaju Adepoju. When I heard the music, I became entrapped by the melody and the style adopted by the singer. It is poetic in nature and rich in style. It was then I begged God to grant me such voice and privilege so that I will be able to use it to praise Him and preach the gospel to the whole world. Since then God has granted me the inspiration. From the year 1978, I had been into Yoruba traditional music called (Ewi).

QUESTION
Can you tell us briefly about your background?

ANSWER
When I begged God for the gift to be able to sing, God himself granted me the privilege to sing. It has been a mode of worship that has inspired a lot of people in my community which truly loves music. I am from Ejiba, in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State. I lived in number 26, Ilo Compound, Ejiba. I was born on the 27th April 1962. I attended both Primary School and Secondary School in my community.

QUESTION
Where did you draw your inspiration from?

ANSWER
From the days of my youth, God has been with me, he has been speaking to me about my future and what I will become in life. Apart from this Yoruba traditional music called “Ewi”, God has made me his Prophet. I trusted Him for the authority he gave me over evil spirits. So, I was inspired to support my call as a prophet with the musical dimension to compliment the preaching of the gospel.

QUESTION
Who is your role model in the Musical World?

ANSWER
Just as I had told you before, the person I can refer to as my role model is Olarewaju Adepoju whose voice I heard years back. It was the voice that I heard that inspired me into musical world. I begged God for such grace. A grace to sing to Him, to praise Him and to inculcate morals to the world. It is more of a spiritual exercise. It has no worldly affiliates at all. I can still recall the music Olarewaju did that time, it was awesome and impactful, still meaningful up till now.

QUESTION
What moral do you think your music would inculcate in the people?

ANSWER
The moral embedded in my music are numerous but the most inspiring is the fact that God has given every single individual a post of responsibility which must be properly guided. Sadly enough, there is a question attached to that. How effectively an individual used the post of responsibility that God Almighty bestowed on him. As a preacher, as a teacher, as an apprentice , as a trader and worker. Individual must be careful not to misuse the privilege and the opportunity given to him/her by God. All post of responsibilities are vital to human race and development. None is bigger and none is smaller, it is a gift from God and it must be treated as such. You can be a doctor, farmer, entrepreneur and so on. We must be careful about our attitude towards our part of responsibility in order not to lead others astray.

QUESTION
How many Tracks are in the Album?

ANSWER
Only two.

QUESTION
What are they all about?

Cuts in…

ANSWER
The first is titled THE PADLOCK in the house of God with equivalent translation in Yoruba as ‘Ogadagodo ni Ile Oluwa’. Those who listen to the music will notice that the song is long. In a nut shell, the song centered on the so called Children of God who do not really place premium on Spiritual issues. Such only utilize the name of God for earthly and ephemeral purposes. Some ‘men of God’ have forgotten that God has power far above their understanding. Far above how they can even praise Him. His power is enormous and incomprehensible. Today churches and houses of God are under lock and keys because of fear. If God has the power to guide and protect, why must His house be under lock and keys? Preachers now hire hunters and vigilantee to guide the premises of God. If God Almighty cannot protect His Sanctuary, then nobody can. I use a king (Belshazzar) in the Bible as an example, when the King used the vessles taken from the temple to drink wine with prostitutes, he was striken by God Himself. In another situation, An Israeli (Achan) stole some of the precious valuables in the house of God which led Isreal loosing war against their enemy (Ai) which are relatively fewer in numbers than them. God hates all manners of evils. Some wealth are proceeds of cheating of fellow humans being. Reckless cheating of fellow human being and the church would go to such people because of the money they have. Even if the rich man is not a member of the church. Elders and stakeholders would love to court his attention to get instruments and other facilities. When God sees such situation, He is always angry, He is not interested in the worship and praises because it is a proceeds of crime. If such valuables are stolen, even if you pray till tomorrow. God will never intervene.

QUESTION
Who do you dedicate the Album to?

ANSWER
I dedicated it to those who had forgotten their role, particularly the men of God who people always looked up to as a source of hope and inspiration. Every individual have the right to beg God for whatever he/she wants. At certain stage, God would need to hear the voice of his Prophet to answer certain prayers. However it is sad, atimes some of the so called ‘Men of God’ cannot even access anything from God and they will be laying hands on people, commanding blessings from God.
Therefore individual should always strictly abide by his post of responsibilities given to him by God. A farmer at times does not adhere to their spiritual role and responsibilities. Some farmers are selling fake farm products to the market. Some farmers used spiritual means to plant. His families would never eat out of the farm produce. When such is sold to the people, people got sick after consuming such food, you may go hungry immediately because it is a product from the pit of hell. Such people do not rely on God for His blessings on the work of their hends. They moved outside their roles for frivolities, greed and wickedness. God has interest in individuals sense of responsibility and would judge accordingly.
