Chairman LGSC Lauds Gov. Ododo For Creating Enabling Environment For Local Government Administration

 

… As Kogi NULGE Holds Stakeholders Meeting of Past President’s.

 

The Kogi State Chairman, Local Government Service Commission, Alhaji Adams Adabenege has praised the administration of Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo for creating policies that has helped reposition Local Government in the State.

Alhaji Adabenege made the disclosure at a stakeholders meeting of past and present President’s of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees held at the NULGE Secretariat Lokoja.

The LGSC Chairman described the stakeholders meeting as a retreat that would enable the present leadership of NULGE in the State tap from the reservoir of knowledge and experience of the past President, pointing out that the present and immediate past administration of Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo and former Governor Yahaya Bello should be commended for creating an enabling environment for the smooth running of the local Government administration in the State.

The Chairman added that the successes that is presently recorded in the improved welfare and policies witnessed in the Local Government is as a result of the unity and harmony existing between the Executive Members of the NULGE in the State.

The LGSC Chairman described the present set of NULGE leaders in the State as true servants of the local Government Workers, praised them for the mutual working relationship existing between them and the State Government.

Alhaji Adabenege assured of the support of the LGSC in ensuring that whatever is due for the Local Government workers is given to them.

He disclosed that Gov. Ododo has given approval for the implementation and cash backing of promotion.

He assured that no stone would be left unturned in the implementation of the cash backing, reiterated his resolve to discharging his duties for the Local Government workers.

In a welcome remarks,
Comr. Mohammed Sanusi Inyanya, the NULGE President, said the meeting is epoch in the annals of the union in the State, said it was for experience sharing on how to move the Union forward to greater heights and development.

Comr. Sanusi paid glowing tributes to Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo for believing in the Local Government workforce in the State.

The NULGE President praised the prompt and 100% payment of salaries of Local Government workers as well as appointment of labour leaders into the cabinet of Gov. Ododo as an act that has brought smiles to the faces of Council workers in the State.

Comr. Sanusi also used the opportunity to once again congratulate Gov. Ododo on his Supreme Court verdict that affirmed his victory at the last Governorship election, described Gov Ododo as a round peg in a round hole.

Comr Sanusi used the medium to thank the Chairman, Local Government Service Commission for bringing his wealth of experience, technique and fatherly disposition to the piloting of the affairs of the Commission.

He noted that through his efforts, the Local Government workers are now enjoying a new lease of life, expressed confidence that in no distant time outstanding promotion interviews will commence as well as the implementation of the cash backing to the promotion of the workers.

He solicited the support of the former President’s in supporting the administration of Gov Ododo in the best way possible, said his administration as NULGE President is open to criticism and advice in piloting the affairs of the Union.

The former President and State officers of NULGE who attended the meeting include, Comr. Alhaji Isah T. Umar, Comr. Alhaji Ibrahim Ajayi, Comr. Chief Tom Abutu JP, Comr. Chief Ebenezer Tade Adeyemi SSA on Civil Service Matters and serving NULGE leaders from the West, Central and Eastern Senatorial District of the State.

In their separate remarks at the meeting, the former President’s praised the administration of Gov Usman Ahmed Ododo for making the welfare of local Government workers his top priority in the State.

They former President’s expressed their profound appreciation to the Chairman, Local Government Service Commission, advised the present NULGE President to make the welfare of workers and teachers a priority, with an appeal for the cash backing of promotion for Local Government Workers.
