CALL FOR CALM AND ORDER IN NIGERIA

The Vice President, West Africa, Pan-African Youth Union, Oladele John Nihi, has expressed deep concern over the recent developments in Nigeria, where some individuals have resorted to flying the Russian flag and calling for a military takeover of power under the guise of the #EndBadGovernance protest.

“I strongly condemn these actions as ridiculous, dangerous, and a threat to the democratic foundations of Nigeria,” said Oladele John Nihi. “I urge all Nigerians, particularly the youths, to remain calm and peaceful, and to refrain from engaging in any further form of protest or violence that could further destabilize the country.”

As a youth leader, Oladele believes in the power of democratic institutions and the rule of law. He supports the efforts of the Nigerian government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to address the grievances of its citizens through peaceful and constitutional means.

To address the current challenges facing Nigeria, Oladele’s office, in collaboration with the Forum of Special Advisers on Youth to Governors in Nigeria, is organizing a 2-Day National Youth Dialogue on October 1-2, 2024. This event will bring together youth delegates from across the country to discuss and develop genuine and meaningful demands, which will then be presented to the government for implementation.

“I call on our youths to exercise patience and refrain from further protests,” Oladele said. “Let us work together to find a peaceful solution to the challenges facing our great nation, and prioritize the safety, security, and well-being of all citizens.”
