Hon Karimi Sunday Steve a former two time House of Representatives Member has called on the Minister of work , His Exellency former Governor of Lagos State Alh Raji Fasola, to call to order the Contractors handing the repairs of Gwagalada- Lokoja road.
According to Hon Karimi commutters traveling on that road have been facing hardship in the last 3 months, lamented that a journey that normally takes 2hrs sometimes last for 14 hours because of negligence on the part of the Contractors and lack of effective supervision on the part of the ministry.
He pointed out that some of the repairs causing traffic jams should have been handled swiftly and mostly at night, but expressed worries that the Contractors are lazily pretending to be working.
He explained that for such a work, it is unexplainable for site workers to resume at 10:00am and close at 4:00pm, says the work remains stagnant for lack of effective planning, thereby causing untold hardship for the people plying the road.
Hon. Karimi maintained that some lives are even lost due to unnecessary accidents called on the Minister to as a matter of urgency, to save lives call the Contractors to order.
The former lawmaker appealed that during the forthcoming festive period, the Minister need to move swiftly to avoid the ugly experiences of the last few months during the Easter.
The former lawmaker mentioned that the major problem areas on on the on Lokoja Abuja road is in Gwagalada and Lokoja ends of the roads where reconstruction work has been ongoing for months, without good progress.
