BSM Congratulates Arase As He Takes Over Police Service Commission

The Benin Solidarity Movement (BSM) Worldwide, a social cultural and political pressure group, has congratulated Dr. Solomon Arase as he take over Chairmanship position of the Police Service Commission (PSC).

Recall, President Muhammadu Buhari has on Wednesday 29th March at the Council Chamber before the commencement of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting; two months after the Senate confirmed former Inspector General of Police Solomon Arase (Rtd.) as chairperson of the PSC, sworn him in as the new Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC).

In a congratulatory message, issued and signed by its President, Ambassador Curtis Eghosa Ugbo, said Solomon Arase leadership skills and ability to inspire those around him will be invaluable in helping the Commissioner achieve its mandate of ensuring professionalism efficiency, and discipline in the Nigeria Police Force.

Part of the message reads, “This meritorious appointment is a testament to your years of dedicated service to the nation and your unwavering commitment to excellence.

“As a former Inspector General of Police, your vast knowledge and experience in law enforcement will undoubtedly serve the Police Service Commission well.

“Your leadership skills and ability to inspire those around you will be invaluable in helping the Commission achieve its mandate of ensuring professionalism, efficiency, and discipline in the Nigeria Police Force.

“Your appointment is a source of inspiration to many, especially the young generation who look up to you as a role model.

“Your leadership qualities and integrity have been a source of encouragement to many in the law enforcement community, and your appointment as Chairman of the Police Service Commission will undoubtedly elevate the standards of professionalism and accountability in the Nigeria Police Force.

“I am confident that your tenure as Chairman of the Police Service Commission will be marked by great achievements and groundbreaking reforms.

“Once again, congratulations on your appointment, and I wish you every success as you undertake this important responsibility.”

Arase who retired in 2016, was the 18th indigenous Inspector-General of Police (IGP) (between April 2015 and June 2016) and has served in various capacities including as head of the Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Bureau, the foremost intelligence-gathering unit of the Nigerian police.
