Brig. Gen. Ipinyomi rtd hails Yahaya Bello on NUJ award

Brig. Gen Benjamin Ipinyomi rtd, a leading House of Representative Aspirant for Yagba Federal Constituency in forthcoming 2027 election has congratulated the former governor of Kogi state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, on the conferment of a well deserved honour by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).

The NUJ, on Saturday, at an occasion to mark its 70th anniversary, conferred on The White Lion a Merit Award, in recognition of Bello’s contributions to press freedom, infrastructural development, education, and human capital development during his administration.

The NUJ had said the well deserved honour was due to the former governor’s novel security architectural framework which kept
terrorists, kidnappers, armed robbers away from the Kogi soil during his tenure.

As a security expert, Ipinyomi said it is without mincing words but former Governor Bello worked hard in building a modern Kogi State, said his achievements in all fronts are all verifiable.

Ipinyomi further noted that the former governor’s political choices had also redefined the political dynamics of Kogi state pointing out that, “But for the depth of his thought process, today, Kogi would have been struggling with successor/predecessor crisis
which has become prevalent in our clime”.

“The relationship between Governor Ododo and the former governor and the peace in the state should be studied by politicians across the state, “ Ipinyomi, noted in a statement in Lokoja on Monday.

The APC leading House of Representative Aspirant praised the sterling performance of Governor Ododo popularly dubbed “The Chief Servant”, by his admirers was a testament to the fact he was not only a good student but had learnt so fast as he was integrating the state seamlessly and converting political opponents to friends.

Ipinyomi praised the integrity of the Comrade Abdullahi Yahya-led NUJ saying, “they are forthright and unbiased and that the reason adduced for the choice of the former governor Bello as one of the awardees will actually stand the test of time.”

Brig Gen ipinyomi assured that his aspiration is going to build on security and empowering the people through employment and infrastructure development, congratulated the former Governor and the present administration of the State for the feat they have attained.
