With the uncertainty and mystery surrounding the All Progressives Congress’s (APC) zoning arrangements ahead its scheduled National convention slated February 26, more and more aspirants continued to throw in their hat into the ring, hoping to grab some of the national positions opened for contest .
The latest entrant for the position of National Youth Leader of the party is Mr Blessing Agbomere.,
Agbomere, who is said to be in his late forties, hails from Fugar, Etsako Central council area of Edo North District.
He is generally reputed for his ability to bulldoze his ways no matter the obstacles, unveiled his interest to contest for the National Youth Leader of the party, during a chat in Benin City, the Edo State capital.
A notable and experienced politician who has at various times, contested for both the governorship and the House of Representatives tickets on the party’s platform but he is quite hopeful of his chances at the party’s convention .
Talking about his ambition, Agbomere, boastful about the wide support base he enjoys among the youths and critical party leaders in the state, insists the APC, at a time like this, with the party at the crossroads, needs someone in his mould to “reverse the drift and restore sanity”.
In a veiled reference to the political imbroglio around the fate of the 14 elected members of the state assembly yet to be sworn in, Mr Agbomere opined that evil can only thrive when decent men keep mute, stating further that the refusal by the youth groups in the state to speak out and condemn the governor’s action may have indirectly provided the leeway for the various acts of “mis governance” being experienced. ..
