Biraidu sons and daughters at home and in diaspora have again been urged to see the security of the area as a collective responsibility.
This formed part of the resolutions reached at a stakeholders meeting held in Lokoja.
The stakeholders expressed concern over the growing level of insecurity in Biraidu District, noting that kidnappings and other criminal activities in recent times have created fears among the people of the area.
The meeting appealed to government and security agencies to establish a special security post at Abocho to curtail the activities of criminals through rapid responses.
It also constituted a security committee to be headed by a retired Colonel while the present Chairman of Vigilance group in the area is to serve as secretary.
According to the stakeholders,the security committee is expected to work out modalities and identify retired security officers towards addressing the security challenges.
The stakeholders advised against all divisive tendencies, stressing that the general growth of Biraidu should be put above other interests.
While commending the leadership of Biraidu District Development Association (BDDA), the house also called for positive contributions that will help in moving the area forward.
Present at the meeting were the state Commissioner of Rural Development, Mr Daniel Ejigbo, national president of BDDA, Mallam.Ilemona Unubi-Ocheni and his executives, retired Colonel Vincent Iyaji, Lokoja branch chairman of BDDA, comrade Obaka Meliga, Mr Benjamin Wada, Elder John Ausa and Mr Clement Ulije.
