AUPCTRE members charge on sincerity, honesty to move union to greater height


 

The national president, Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations, Civil Service Technical and Recreational Services Employees (AUPCTRE) Comrade Benjamin Anthony has charged the newly elected members of the union to uphold the tenants of sincerity, honesty and commitment to duty in order to move the union to enviable standard.

 

Comrade Anthony who was represented by Mr Waheed Sikirie the General Secretary of the union gave the charge during the sixth quadrennial state delegate conference of the union held in Lokoja , Kogi state on Wednesday.

The union leader who stated that AUPCTRE is greater than any individual, charged members to work as one family devoid of sentiment in the interest and progress of the union.

“Our fundamental objective is to ensure that AUPCTRE ranks best among the sister unions in the country and to achieve this objective we should be committed and honest in service delivery so that we can collectively lift up the glory and the morale of the union” he advised.

While urging members of the union to always endeavour to elect credible and trusted leaders that have vision and passion to the cause of members, the union leader , assured that the national body of AUPCTRE would continue to keep the flag flying by ensuring that they stabilize the Union with all their conscientious and committed efforts.

“We shall always solicit for the cooperation of all the state councils in order to address the issues of our members with a great and compassionate concern, so that the reputation of the union will not be in shackle. We should therefore entrust the Union to competent leaders that will run the affairs of the Union for the next four years” he said.

He commended the delegates for conducting themselves during the last National Delegates Conference held in the month of March , 2022 in Jos, Plateau state and assured that the confidence reposed in the leadership of the union at the conference would not be derailed.

Earlier in his address, the outgoing Kogi state chairman of the union Comrade Mahmud Idris urged his successor not to abandoned the union’s ongoing projects in the interest of the union.

He appealed to the National President of AUPCTRE to finance the ongoing projects in Kogi State in order to ease accommodation problem as well as joining the league of industrial unions that owned property in the state.

At the end of the conference the following State Executive Council members for Kogi State emerged. They are :
Comrade Ahmed Enesi Dauda- State Chairperson, Comrade Ihinkalu Oloruntoba – State Vice Chairperson, Comrade Matthew Ayegba – State Vice Chairperson, Comrade Alamo. Y. Ibrahim- State Treasurer, Comrade Isah Salau Onimisi- State Secretary Finance, Comrade Hassan Abubakar – Asst. State Secretary Welfare.

Others are Comrade Onoja Helen – Asst. State Secretary Administration, Comrade Salihu Nuhu Obajenwu,
COMRADE PHILLIP OMEIKA IDAKWO – EX-OFFICIO
and COMRADE ASMAU ABDULMAJEEB – EX-OFFICIO
