Assembly Election: Dr. JW Elukpo Declares Bid for Bassa Constituency Seat on APC Platform, Meets APC Ward Excos.
Dr JW Elukpo, has visited Gboloko APC Ward Executives on Sunday (08/02/2026) to declare his intention to run for Kogi State House of Assembly, representing the good people of Bassa Constituency, under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
At his country home in Gboloko, the administrative headquarters of Bassa-Nge Kingdom, Dr Elukpo first arrived at the Palace of the Acting Estu of Bassa-Nge Kingdom, HRH. Alh. Gimba Shuaibu, to congratulate the regent king on his recent appointment by the Bassa-Nge Council of Chiefs, seek for his guidance and royal blessings as a son of the soil.
HRH. Alh. Gimba Shuaibu expressed his satisfaction for the courtesy visit, and prayed for a successful and fruitful outcome of the exercise.
Dr. JW Elukpo, then led his entourage to meet with his Party Executives. He said the visit was to formally inform his Ward Party Leaders of his intention to represent Bassa Constituency at the Kogi State House of Assembly.
Hon. Moses Daniel the Ward Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), welcomed the Aspirant, Dr JW Elukpo, stating that the visitation reflects his commitment, respect for Party Leaders and determination to starting his political journey from home. He added that bringing a fresh perspective will drive developments and attract golden opportunities to the land. He further charged him to remain steadfast in the course as Gboloko Ward and in extension, Bassa Constituency is lucky to have his calibre in the race.
Other Party Executives warmly received Dr JW Elukpo, expressed their readiness and raised concerns about the challenges of the Local Government, especially in terms of infrastructure.
Furthermore, the track records of Dr JW Elukpo has proven to be effective and rooted at the grassroot, as he is known for his youthful energy, community service and high sense of responsibility.
In conclusion, Dr Elukpo expressed sincere appreciation to the State Leader, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, for the youthful environment and structure created, that has given him the opportunity to vie for the State Assembly. He also appreciated the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for maintaining the youthful environment.
He thanked the Ward Party Chairman and the Executives, for the confidence reposed in him, promising that with their solidarity, unity, support, guidance and prayers, a brighter Bassa Constituency will be achieved.
