They say performance is the only language that doesn’t need a translator. For anyone who witnessed the “Before and After” era at Kogi State Polytechnic, the transformation wasn’t just a facelift—it was a total resurrection.
An alumnus described the old days as more of an “advanced secondary school” than a tertiary institution but fast forward to the tenure of Prof. Usman Ogbo, and the script didn’t just change; it was rewritten in gold.
From securing critical accreditations to birthing the HND in Mechanical Engineering, he turned academic dreams into tangible certificates.

But Prof. Ogbo didn’t just build structures; he built a culture. Before his arrival, the campus was a playground for “shadow characters” and cultists. He didn’t need a sledgehammer to fix it—he used a rare blend of firm discipline and fatherly mentorship.
His name alone became a “caution sign” for troublemakers, yet he was the most student-friendly leader the institution has seen. He mastered the art of being a Rector who could relate with you as a peer while leading you as a visionary. He developed the staff, inspired the students, and left the institution safer and smarter than he found it.

Now, the “Ogbo Effect” is moving to Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU) as he takes the reins as Vice-Chancellor.

We are watching, the nation is watching, the world is watching and we know his capacity.
He will succeed.

Congratulations once again dear Prof.
