As Gov. Ododo breaks, creates new record pays pensioners before civil servants

In just one year and four months in office, the Chief Servant of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo kept creating an amazing landmarks in his administration. He has become the political envy of the people of the state and beyond because of his great vision to place the state ahead of others.
His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has left no one in doubt that he feels the pulse of his people on a daily basis. He is a leader who always gets to the bottom of the very cause of everything that gives his people source of concern. This is what true leadership should be and His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo continues to display his human milk of kindness on a daily basis for the entire citizens of Kogi State.
Only last week, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo spent millions of naira and doled out food palliatives to the widows and the less privileged in the state. This positive move is a product of a great leader who shares the grief of the deprived women of his state.
His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo is a leader who cannot sleep without thinking about the welfare of his people. It is no longer secret in the state that he placed the welfare of workers and pensioners as top priority of his administration. This is not rhetoric as he lives by ensuring prompt payment of salaries to workers and pensioners in the state and sometimes even at the middle of the month to ensure workers enjoy festive periods.
His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo is an astute administrator, a record breaker of great reputation. He is a rare gem wrapped with unimaginable humility yet he is the number one citizen of Kogi State.
And now to to the germane issue of pensioners in the state. His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo since assumption of office in January 2024 changed the narrative on the plight of the entire pension men and women in the state. He has fully identified with their plight and had always given them the needed priority attention in alleviating their sufferings at their old age.
Pensioners are senior citizens of the state but in most states of the federation this statement exists in appellation and not in deed. When Governor Ododo came on stage he changed the narrative and placed the pensioners of Kogi State as the true senior citizens that they are known.
Only last week, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo broke yet another jinx by reversing the payment system in the state. Rather than paying civil servants first as has been the ritual for decades, he decided to pay pensioners their allowances first in the state. This of course what ordinarily it should be.
If truth must be told, why must people who have served the state for a whooping thirty five years live beggarly lives, why should they be the last to be paid while the agile civil servants smiles to the banks first? This shouldn’t be the case and the Chief Servant of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has positively turned the tables for good – PENSIONERS FIRST. May Allah’s name be praised, Amiin!!!
Lets we forget in a hurry, when His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo increased and implemented the new minimum wage in the state, pensioners in the state were not left out. As a matter of fact the governor also increased the allowances of all the pensioners in the state. No state did what the governor did to pensioners in Kogi state.
As the Muslim Ulammah prepares for this year’s Holy Sallah celebration, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo decided to put smiles on the faces of pensioners first before the civil servants. This record breaking step of His Excellency must be acknowledged and highly applauded. He has broken a great record and only Allah would continue to protect and preserve him for the people of Kogi State.
Without mincing words, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo holds every citizen in Kogi State in high esteem. He is indeed the true signature of good representation. I am not surprised the entire citizens in the state are already yelling for his second term in office.
