APPEAL FOR FENCING OF IDENTIFIED SCHOOL COMPOUNDS IN OGORI-MAGONGO LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA AS A SECURITY MEASURE.

Your Excellency,
We write with deep respect and a strong sense of concern to draw your kind attention to the urgent security challenges facing public schools in Ogori-Magongo Local Government Area of Kogi State.
Most schools within the LGA are without perimeter fencing, thereby exposing pupils, students, teachers, and school facilities to unauthorized access, vandalism, and other security threats. In the face of rising insecurity across parts of the state, the absence of fencing has heightened fear among parents and guardians and poses serious risks to uninterrupted teaching and learning.
The schools most affected include:
– LGEA Primary School, Odiobo, Ogori
– Uburu Primary School, Ogori
– LGEA Primary School, Akpafa
– UBE School, Oturu-Opou, Magongo
– Magongo Community Secondary School (MCSS), Magongo
– Community Comprehensive High School (CCHS), Ogori
– Government Science Secondary School, Ogori-Magongo
These schools serve a large population of children and youths and remain highly vulnerable due to their open and unfenced nature.
Fencing of these school compounds will significantly enhance security by controlling access, protecting infrastructure, preventing criminal activities, and restoring confidence among parents, teachers, and the host communities.
It will also contribute to discipline and provide a safer, more conducive learning environment.
Your Excellency’s administration has demonstrated commitment to education and the protection of lives and property across Kogi State. We therefore humbly appeal for your kind intervention to approve and facilitate the fencing of the above-mentioned school compounds as a proactive step toward safeguarding education and addressing insecurity in Ogori-Magongo LGA.
We trust in your leadership and compassion and remain hopeful that this appeal will receive favourable consideration in the interest of our children and the future of our communities.
