The state Executive Committee of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, has suspended, Ms Veronica Okolo from the union till further notice
Veronica, who is of the Graphic chapel had her suspension ratified on Tuesday at an emergency SEC meeting of the union held at the NUJ Press centre in Lokoja.
The suspended member was accused of back biting, character assassination, trespass into the matrimonial home of a member with the intent of causing disaffection between the couples and other anti union activities which amounts to gross misconduct.
The SEC- in- session considered her conduct therefore to be in violation of Article 7, 1a, c and d respectively of the Union’s constitution
SEC also directed that Ms Veronica Okolo during the pendency of this suspension is barred from all the activities of NUJ and NAWOJ.
Her case was however referred to the Ethics and Disciplinary committee of the Union to enable her defend herself in the spirit of fair hearing
