Death has again occurred in Umomi with the passing away of Mr. Benjamin Akpai Ajibili a one time chairman of ofu local government area.
A family statement said Mr.Benjamin Akpai Ajibili died in the early hours of ninth October,2021 of an illness.
Aged 74, late Mr Benjamin Akpai Ajibili is survived by a wife, children and relations.
The late Mr Benjamin Akpai Ajibili who is an astute politician and an illustrious son of Umomi, Ochadamu ward of Ofu local government area will be remembered for being a courageous, frank and effective politician who contributed imensly to the development of Ofu local government area.
The deceased who is a professional physiatricks nurse was at one time a senior staff of Ajaokuta steel company.
He was also the kogi East zonal chairman of the All Nigeria people’s party (ANPP) as well as an ardent and loyal supporter of late prince Abubakar Audu ,former Executive Governor of kogi state.
Many of his admirers and close associates described him as reliable mobilizer and listening leader who will be greatly missed.
Meanwhile, the burial program released by the family indicates that the burial ceremony commences from the 22nd to the 23rd of October 2021 at his residence in Umomi -Ofu local Government area.
The statement urged friends, relations , associates and admirers to be punctual.
