A group under the auspices of Progressive Consolidation Network (PCN), has drummed support for Comr. Onuh Edoka, Kogi State Chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress to contest the 2023 Federal House of Representatives election for Ankpa Federal Constituency of Kogi State.
The group also pleaded with Comr. Edoka to accept the call to run, describe him as a man who has now become a rally point in the peoples quest to have a people oriented representation.
The group argued that for the purpose of having a loud voice in the National Assembly and one that would not be silent, but to help with enacting laws that would be beneficial to the people of Ankpa Federal Constituency, informed their calls for the labour Leader, disclosed that it has zeroed in on Comr Edoka as a good candidate for the federal Constituency in 2023.
The group notes with seriousness the neglect the people of Ankpa Federal Constituency have had to face owing to poor representation in the past that has failed to meet there yearning and aspirations, but expressed confidence in the ability of Comr. Edoka to offer that needed voice.
Addressing newsmen in Lokoja, with members drawn from the three Local Government areas of the federal Constituency, PCN’s Coordinator, Ahmed Musa Achigili and Secretary, Dr Onuh Elijah pledged the group’s preparedness to begin mobilization and sensitization visits to various media outfits towards drumming support for Comr. Edoka.
“Very soon, our group will enlist the support of leaders of thought from Ankpa Federal Constituency, irrespective of party affiliation to drive home our points. We are aware of the neglect, Infrastructural decay, economic worries and other issues confronting our people, but planlessness is not a virtue and we advocate that we must begin serious plans for the years ahead.
“ While we appeal to Comr. Edoka to please accept the clarion calls for a better future for Ankpa Federal Constituency to run in 2023; his candidature would be far more appealing to the youths, discerning elders and various sectors of the population.
Expressing what they described as ‘sincere concerns’ over various challenges facing the people including rising insecurity, unemployment and other economic issues, the PCN state that its membership includes ‘ volunteers, patriots of Ankpa Federal Constituency extraction from all political parties and numerous apolitical patriots’ also urge the people to intensify there calls for Comr. Edoka to accept the offer to run in 2023.
