Anglican Diocese of Kabba to Honor Kogi Gov’s Aide Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi at 30th Anniversary Synod
The Anglican Diocese of Kabba will honor Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi, Special Adviser on Energy Matters to the Kogi State Governor, for exemplary community service during its 30th anniversary celebration and annual synod.
The recognition was conveyed in a communication from the Bishop of Anglican Diocese of Kabba, Rev. Dr. Stephen Akobe, to the Special Adviser weeks ago.
Bishop Akobe described Adeyemi as a passionate community developer, advocate of the church, and devoted public servant who has continued to leverage his office and influence for the good of the people. He commended the aide for his patriotism, love for his community, and service to the Christian community in his capacity as a government official.
The Bishop noted that the church remains the conscience and moral compass of society and of those in authority. While reiterating that the church stays apolitical, he said it would continue to encourage public officials to prioritize development and service to the people.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, 23rd May 2026, at the cathedral, as part of activities marking 30 years since the establishment of the Kabba Diocese.
Reacting, an elated Adeyemi said the award stands out as the most significant recognition he has received.
“This award recognition is a significant milestone I cherish more than all awards I have received in the past. To be recognized by the church is one great thing I will never forget,” he said.
He thanked the church for finding him worthy and recalled his long connection with the Anglican Communion, dating back to his days at St. Barnabas Secondary School and his involvement in the preparations leading to the creation of Kabba Diocese in 1996.
“I feel delightfully grateful to God to be honored by the church for my little contribution to my community. This award comes at a time I truly cannot forget because of the thirtieth diocesan anniversary. In 1996, we were all co-opted into the preparatory arrangement leading to the establishment of Kabba Diocese. I am therefore very exhilarated to be alive to see three decades of growth and greatness,” Adeyemi stated.
He congratulated Bishop Akobe and the fathers in faith who have sustained the church’s growth and pledged to continue serving his community. “I will not forget this honor in a hurry. God bless His church,” he added.
