The Kastina State Coordinator of the Maize Growers, Processors and Marketers Association of Nigeria (MAGPAMAN), Hajiya Ramatu Usman,has urged beneficiaries of the Central Bank Anchor Borrowers Loan to reciprocate the federal government gestures through the Central Bank, by ensuring refund of the loan, to enable the Nation’s Apex bank have Confidence in the association.

Hajiya Ramatu disclosed this to the media, Shortly after the group’s Stakeholders and Executives meeting,held at the Jamil Hotels, Funtua recently,
The coordinator further warned that the Central Bank of Nigeria’s anchor borrowers loan was not a grant or palliative as errorniously perceived by some beneficiaries, the loan she said was meant to be repaid, and beneficiaries must ensure quick refund within the shortest fraction of time,
According to Hajiya Ramatu, currently, the Maize Growers, Processors and Marketers Association of Nigeria ( MAGPAMAN) has resorted to the private anchor borrowers , because of the misperceptions by farmers and the timing, that is the time at which beneficiaries normally gets the Central bank anchor borrowers funds,she noted.
Hear her,” the private anchor borrower loan has been discovered to be results oriented, because of the involvement of private companies, who ensure that farming imput and funds gets to the farmers at the appropriate time, unlike the Central bank anchor borrower, which in most cases delivers imputs and funds lately to farmers.
Speaking further, Hajiya Ramatu Usman said over the years, MAGPAMAN had supplied maize to some of the major agro Companies in the Country, adding that that with the incorporation of about 1200 farmers in the private anchor borrower, the Maize Growers, Processors and Marketers Association of Nigeria ( MAGPAMAN), Kastina State chapter has the capacity to supply over 200 metric tones of maize in 2022.
Continuing,she implored the people of Kastina State and Nigeria at large to embrace farming and view it as a lucrative bussines, and also the surest way to diversify the Nation’s economy, even as she called on the federal government to multivate and encourage farmers by providing incentives that would enhance and ease the farming procceses.
Hajiya Ramatu Usman the Funtua local government born teacher turn farmer, has demonstrated uncommon passion for farming,a feat which saw her been appointed as the treasurer of the Maize Growers, Processors and Marketers Association of Nigeria ( MAGPAMAN),in 2016, and later the Kastina State Coordinators,she is currently the Chairman loan recovery, Kastina State.
