Alledged N20b Saga: Invite Your Informant For Questioning, Prosecution, Apologize to Gov. Bello, Kogi People – Convener, Congress For Better Nigeria


 

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has been asked to invite it informant that gave the information about alledged diversion of funds by the Kogi State Government for further interrogation and possible prosecution.

The Convener, Congress For Better Nigeria, Barr. Zacchaeus Dare Michael, made the assertion following the statement he said was issued by the Sterling Bank Management and the Kogi State Government that no money was fixed nor diverted as alledged by an EFCC informant against the State.

Barr. Dare lamented that the information which was aimed at disparaging the rising Profile of Gov. Yahaya Bello in view of his fast rising Presidential aspiration but failed flat on its face when confronted with fact, calls for the EFCC to publicly apologize for its professional misconduct.

The legal luminery, Activists and APC Chieftain, lamented that EFCC allowed itself to be dragged into needless politics, cautioned the antigraft agency from allowing itself to be used to settle political scores in 2023.

While pointing out that the whistle blower act allows for a reward for informants with correct information, equally says it allows for punishment for fake information, therefore called for the informant who gave the false alarm to be invited for further information and prosecution as it is evidently clear that he has misled the EFCC.

Barr. Dare regrets that for an antigraft agency to head to court and seek to disparage an individual and state without having thoroughly verified and investigated its Information, calls for worry and a failure on the part of the EFCC.

Barr. Dare urged Gov. Yahaya Bello not to be dampened by the attempt by mischief makers, who are scared of his rising Presidential aspiration, urged him to continue in his stead of impacting lives, as 2023 would be no stopping the Youths from speaking with one voice.

The Convener, Congress For Better Nigeria described 2023 as a year the Youths would elect there own in Gov. Bello, urged the EFCC to arrest its informant and prosecute him for raising false alarm as well as publicly tender an unreserved apology to Gov. Bello and the people of Kogi State.
