The Aguba Descendants Union , (ADU) resident outside Omala Local Government Area of kogi state has held their inaugural meeting with the call for all sons and daughters in diaspora to forge common ground for the growth and development of the aborigines in their Areas.
In a statement made available to Agubasun after the end of the meeting on Saturday called on the paramount ruler of Ife and chairman Omala Area Traditional Council HRH Boniface Musa ( Ojogba) to hasten the installation process of the new Onu Egena Ife Chief Simeon Echude in Biraidu District of Dekina Local Government Area of kogi state .
The meeting emphasised on the need for the Aguba descents resident outside Omala to come together as a group to synergize with the people at home in order to chart a common front for the unity and progress of the land.
The meeting agreed to work assiduously for the successful celebration of the forthcoming silver jubilee (25yrs) of the monarch HRH Boniface Musa on the throne of his ancestors, urged all sons and daughters both at home and in the diaspora to ensure successful marking of the epochal event.
Some of the participants from Buraidu District of Dekina LGA , noted that they have been celebrating their ancestral home at their new abode, stressing that the vacant seat of Gago, Egena Onu Ife demand urgent approval of his Royal Father , Boniface Musa, the Ojogba of Ife and paramount ruler of Omala LGA for his quick installation.
” We of Aguba descents in Buraidu District which comprises Emewe -Opada, Abocho and Ogbabede of Dekina, have been passionate about our ancestral roots. We have always been alligning ourselves with the happenings at home. We are proud of our roots.
“Our meetings are running regularly at many locations in Dekina, Ofu and Idah Local Government Areas and we have been participating actively on matters that will bring development and growth of Omala and Ife in particular.
In a remark, Hon. Steve Shaibu the convener of the meeting assured them that their appeal will be conveyed to the monarch and promised that the needful would be done within a reasonable time frame.
He commended the attendees for their commitment to their fatherland even in a foreign land adding that the meeting will be rotated among the members in their respective area.
He called on Aguba Descendants to ways see themselves as brothers and sisters any where they find themselves and should not shy away from helping each other to grow both economically and politically.
Also speaking , Atabor Julius, Publisher of AgubaSun.com an online newspaper assured the participants of his unalloyed support for the Organisation in the promotion and propagation of the ideals of Aguba, the progenitor of Odo Area of Omala Local Government Area.
Those who attended the inaugural meeting include , Steve Shaibu PRO Aguba Descendants Union, Friday Benjamin Okpanachi , Secretary Aguba Descendants Union, Julius Atabor, others are Simeon Echude , the new Gago, Egena Ife of Emewe -Opada; Joseph Idase, Paul Anaja from Ogbabede and Edibo Wisdom.
Meanwhile, the next meeting is scheduled to hold at the palace of Chief Simeon Echude at Emewe Opada on December 19, 2020.
