AGILE Project Coordinator on Routine Visit to Okene, Applauds Smooth CCT Exercise
The Kogi State AGILE Project Coordinator on Friday paid a routine visit to Okene Secondary School (OSS), Okene, to monitor the progress of the ongoing Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) exercise for female students.
The exercise, which commenced on 23rd September, 2025 in Kogi Central, has so far covered several schools, including: FSP Model College, St. Andrew Standard College, LGEA Model Standard College Bariki, CAISO, LGSS Ohiana, Queen of Apostles College, LGEA Demonstration Onyukoko, EMCCO, LMC, OCSS Arigo, UBE JSS Nurul Islam, UBE JSS Etahi, Etahi Community Secondary School, UBE JSS Esomi, GSS Okene, LGSS Upogoro, and Okene Secondary School.
During the inspection, the Project Coordinator expressed satisfaction with the smooth conduct of the exercise and commended the large turnout of beneficiaries. He also used the opportunity to enlighten parents on the purpose of the initiative, stressing that it is designed to reduce financial burdens, particularly for less privileged households, and to ensure that no child is left out of school in Kogi State.
“The Conditional Cash Transfer is a continuous process. What we are seeing now is just the first phase, and with this program, parents no longer have any excuse not to enroll their wards in public schools,” he noted.
The Project Coordinator explained that the CCT is one of the many components of the AGILE Program, which seeks to expand access to quality education. He further urged parents to sustain their support for the administration of His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, Executive Governor of Kogi State, for making the project a success.
He also appreciated the efforts of Mr. Kunkle (Component Leader), the UBA Team, and Mr. Mike for their commitment and dedication to the program.
