The efforts of Sen. Sunday Steve Karimi to make lasting impact on the lives of his constituents seems to know no bounds, with his recent completion of a 288 seater Modern Digital Learning and Test Centre, popularly known as CBT centre in Titcombe College Egbe in Kogi State, an institution that has produced great Nigerian’s.
Sen. Karimi, is the Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, is an old boy of Titcombe College Egbe, said having realized the hardship faced by the students of the area, decided to partner TCEOSA.
Established in 1951, by the Missionaries, the modern CBT Centre has another adjoining 500 seater capacity chapel that can be used as awaiting area during examination.
The modern facility which Sen. Karimi says is a partnership between Titcombe college Egbe old students Association TCEOSA, has been acknowledged by the community, traditional Rulers and stakeholders as first class facilities to be located in any school in Nigeria according to JAMB standard, has a security fence within the school promises, with CCTV monitoring facilities.
Sen. Karimi, the Chairman, Senate Service Committee, since his assumption to the National Assembly has not minced words that, his representation is people centered.
The newly built facility has an interior of building carefully remodeled and upgraded with preserving decades of raw exterior beauty.
The facility has a modern male and female convenience with running water, installed with high speed star tick Internet.
Furthermore, the new CBT Centre has access infrastructure with power and distributed star structured cabling to all the desks.
The CBT centre according to Sen. Karimi, aimed at reducing secondary school students from Egbe and the adjoining local Government in Okun speaking areas traveling to Lokoja and sometimes to Ilorin to register and write any CBT examination, particularly JAMB.
A CBT Centre that is presently exciting the people of Egbe and the adjoining local Government in the Kogi West Senatorial District, is equipped with fast wide screen laptops (core i5) in private cubicles.
Similarly, the CBT examination facility has a big screen display (Smart TV) on either sides of the hall for non examination use (for online trainings and meetings)
Towards ensuring that the issue of power is solved and to ensure hitch free use of the facilities by students, the Titcombe College Egbe CBT Centre has an inverter with 90 slow panels (40.5 KW), a 40KVA sound Proof Diesel generator.
The place of water in a facility such as the modern CBT Centre cannot be over emphasized, Sen. Karimi installed a water treatment plant to assure clean portable running water.
Concerned about the comfort of students and teachers that will be using the facility, the CBT Centre has an ample ventilation, air conditioner and bright lighting system, this Sen. Karimi disclosed is a factor needed to ensure a good learning environment for students.
The newly built facility according to the Senator is a facility that has gulped over N300m, said with the completion and awaiting commissioning, is a promise he made to the people, thanked TCEOSA for the initiative they started before his taking it over to it completion.
