As 2023 Gubernatorial election draw closer by the day in Kogi State, a group known as Kogi Unity Forum, KUF has applauded the relevant stake holders from Kogi West for coming out through one form or the other to appeal to two other senatorial districts to allow them have a shot at the Lugard House.
In a statement on Thursday morning in Lokoja by the Steering Committee members, Honourable Adama Usman , Honourable Adinoyi Omaiza Agbana and Honourable Abiodun Agbana said the group is particularly happy with the people of Ijumu and other local government areas who are now coming out to bring themselves to gether in a bid to actualized the shift of power to Kogi west .
” We are specifically happy with the support our calling is getting from the entire West, East and Central for power shift to the West . It is a glaring way of promoting brotherhood among us as a people ” the statement read .
The group further commended the state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for building political bridges across the three senatorial districts which has promote equity .
They said the entire state has embraced ‘Ibigo’ as the new political formular for equitable political power distribution especially governorship position.
The group therefore called on the entire west irrespective of political affiliation to adopt the Honourable Commissioner for Finance and Economic Planning, Alhaji Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris ( MAAI) as a sole candidate from the west because of his pragmatic approach to the issues .
The group disclosed that the commissioner as the longest serving public office holder in the present administration is reputed for his open door policies and accountability.
He is a noted unifier and mobilizer of people across the state which has made him acceptable to the entire stakeholders across the state irrespective of party affiliations.
