Acceptance/ Appreciation Speech By Hon. Ibrahim Haruna Caretaker Committee Chairman for Ijumu Local Government Area.

It is with heart filled joy and appreciation to Almighty God that I stand privileged to address the staff and people of Ijumu Local Government Area today.
You will recall that through the benevolence of His Excellency, Gov Yahaya Bello, I was appointed to serve as the Caretaker Chairman of our Local Government.
My nomination with all sense of humility is a privilege, reason why I use this medium to call on all the political actors and stakeholders of Ijumu Local Government Area to see my emergence as divine and an act of God.
Let me particularly express my heartfelt gratitude to Gov. Yahaya Bello for giving me this opportunity and to pledge my unresolve commitment to holding on to the tenets of the New Direction Administration.
Permit me to equally extend my gratitude to the Governor, Elect, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo. This privilege to uplift the living standard of our people would not be compromised.
As I accept this onerous task of taking Ijumu Local Government Area to the next level of prosperity and development, let me assure that my tenure as Caretaker Chairman would be to build on the progress and development of our people.
Without mincing words, my assumption of duty today marks a turning point in the history of our people in terms of purposeful leadership that would be Inclusive and people oriented.
Without peace, no meaningful development can take place in any society, reason why, the peaceful coexistence of our people would top my administration’s top priority.
I therefore urge all sons and daughters of Ijumu Local Government Area, at home and in the diaspora, to eschew the spirit of forgiveness, bitterness and all other burning issues that has held us back.
My administration is not for personal vendetta, witch-hunt and fighting political differences. I have come to open a new page, and draw a line from the past for the good of our people.
Let me restate my commitment to security of lives and properties in Ijumu Local Government Area. I will ensure that I synergies with all the security agencies in making Ijumu safe for living and in attracting and doing business.
My administration would place priority on education, agriculture and health. No stone would be left unturned in ensuring that we take our rightful place as a food basket, the envy in making our people to be educated, with our primary health care delivery services top notch within the limits of available resources.
Youths and women empowerment would get the desired attention, with the provision of intervention and necessary support to make our Youths gainfully engaged while our women are made self reliant.
Be rest assured that I have come to improve on the welfare of the Local Government workers. We will do what is necessary to provide tools and enabling environment for our workforce to discharge their responsibilities without let or hindrance.
Let me assure our traditional institutions of the respect and support required to enable them discharge their roles of maintaining peace in their domain as well the culture of our people.
In this New Dawn, be rest assured that things will be done differently, with everyone involved in the running of the administration, thus making our people to be proud to come from Ijumu Local Government Area.
Let me use this medium to most sincerely express my gratitude to the critical stakeholders of our Local Government Area, at home and in the diaspora for their support in my nomination.
To all the critical stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress from Ijumu Local Government Area. Your confidence reposed on me would be justified. I make a pledge that the APC under my leadership would remain the party of envy.
My unwavering commitment to the Party remains total assuring that your dedication to our shared vision and the tireless efforts you put in making our party to be in the front burner over the years will be sustained.
Finally, I seek for the collaboration, guidance, and support of all, irrespective of political, religious and other differences in moving forward Ijumu Local Government Area.
Your belief in my capabilities over the years that led to my nomination have not only bolstered my confidence to be a servant leader, but have also contributed significantly to the hope I have in this endeavor.
As we embark on this new chapter together, I want to assure you of my commitment to serving in this role with integrity, transparency, and diligence. I look forward to working hand in hand with each one of those that would make the Caretaker team to bring positive changes and progress to our local government.
Once again, I want to thank you all for your support, encouragement, and belief in my abilities since my nomination. Together, we can make the positive impact for Ijumu Local Government Area that we so desire over the years.
