AAUE Offers Subsidised Hostel Space To Off Campus Students Ahead Of Examination
—– postponed Students’ Union (SUG) elections indefinitely

The Management of Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma (AAUE), has announced the provision of subsidised on-campus hostel accommodation for students, originally living off campus who are affected by difficulties of mobility as the First Semester Examinations are set to commence.
The University Management approved the provision of bed space accommodation within the University hostels for interested students who may wish to reside on campus for the remainder of the session.
This accommodation will be made available at a subsidised rate to students, considering that the first semester is almost ended, while also ensuring a safe and conducive environment for academic activities.
According to the Principal Assistant Registrar/Head, Information,Protocol and Public Relations, Otunba Mike Aladenika, “the initiative is a proactive response to prevailing circumstances in the university town.
Adding that Under the arrangement, bed spaces will be made available within the university hostels at a subsidised rate for interested students for the remainder of the semester.
“The safety and welfare of our students remain our top priority. In light of the current security situation in Ekpoma, the University has taken deliberate steps to provide safe and affordable accommodation within the campus for those affected,” Aladenika stated.
He added that the measure would also help students focus on their academic responsibilities as examinations approach.
“As we prepare to commence the first semester examinations, it is important that our students are in a secured and conducive environment that supports effective studies and participation in the exams process,” he added.

“We wish to reassure parents and the general public that the University remains fully operational and committed to the safety, security and academic progress of all students,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the University management , said it has postponed indefinitely the Students’ Union (SUG) elections earlier scheduled for April 30, 2026, citing Constitutional provisions, need to safeguard peace on campus and general security concerns.
According to the management, the postponement was necessary to ensure a hitch-free examination process and the timely completion of the 2025/2026 academic session.
“All matters relating to the Students’ Union elections have therefore been put on hold until conditions are more conducive and in line with constitutional provisions,” he added.
They maintained that “In view of the constitutional provision and the proximity of examinations scheduled to begin on May 11, 2026, Management resolved that proceeding with the elections at this time would not be in the best interest of the university,”
The school warned students against actions that could violate their matriculation oath and the oath of good conduct.
“Students are advised in their own interest to remain law-abiding and channel all grievances through the Office of the Dean of Students for prompt resolution” .
He reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to due process, student welfare, and the maintenance of peace, insisting that the postponement was necessary and responsible decision. He concluded.
