A PHILANTHROPIST: CHIEF DR OGWU JAMES ONOJA~SAN; APPEALS TO KOGI STATE GOVERNMENT TO CONSTRUCT OGUGU ~OFANTE ROAD.
The legal colossus chief /Dr Ogwu James Onoja, SAN ; has called on Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to construct Ofante ~Ogugu road in Olamaboro LGA. Dr Onoja, SAN ; made the call during the official commissioning of the Security and Civil Defence Corp ( NSCDC) headquarters at Ofante Ogugu in Olamaboro LGA of Kogi state. Dr Onoja SAN who is also the Director of Deacon Job/ Mrs Omada foundation also emphasized that Ofante Community and it’s environs have been supporters of APC over the years. The legal colossus stated further that “This road has been our concern. We are vital link that connects communities and markets, and constructing it will transform the economic fortunes of our people”.He also stated that Nigeria police Divisional headquarters is also at advanced stage for completion at Ofante. All community efforts. Adding that Gov Ododo is a father to all and therefore he is on his knees along with his wife to plead with the Governor to construct Ofante ~Ogugu road to compliment the community self help projects and to curb insecurity in this part of the state.
While commissioning the civil defence head quarters Ofante, the commandant of civil defense, Kogi state, Commander Olumide Ebenezer Eletan commended Chief Dr Onoja SAN for his unwavering love for his community in the historical milestone project for the protection of lives citizens and essential services in this part of Kogi state.
The Onuh Ochogwu HRH Chief Isaiah Akor in his speech also commended Chief Dr Onoja SAN for his love and willingness to always assist his community and the surrounding environs.
In his speech, the chief of the community HRH Paul Ojonugwa Ibrahim, expressed his gratitude to Chief Onoja SAN for single handedly initiating the project, building, furnishing and upgrading same to the status of a divisional headquarters.
The president of Ofante Community self Help Association (OCSHA) which is the supreme body of the community, Engineer Eleojo James Amodu was unavoidably absent but delegated his secretary Deacon Philip Ohiemi , treasurer Perm sec Emmanuel Idenyi and the P.R.O Hon Samuel Akpakwu who represented the community at the occasion. Speaking on behalf of the President, Hon Samuel Akpakwu stated that Dr Ogwu James Onoja, SAN is a worthy son and a pillar of the community who the community can never find words to thank him enough for his commitment for the development of Ofante. Stating that the yearly grading of Ogugu~Ofante road made it possible for the community and environs to transport food to markets within Kogi state. He described Dr/ Chief Ogwu James Onoja,SAN as God given son who knows the pain of his people.
Concluding that the establishment of civil Defence and subsequent upgrading to a Divisional headquarters is sacrosanct. Hon Akpakwu emphasized that Ofante is a large community bounded by Benue and Enugu states .Thereby making the establishment of civil defense headquarters a machinery for protecting lives , property and essential services of the citizens. And that it also helps maintain public morals, ensures societal resilience and minimizing the impact of emergencies in both crises and peace.
In his response, the Security adviser to Governor Usman Ahmed Usman Ododo, Hon Ahmed Ahmed who stood in for the Governor stated that he will pass the remorseful message of the community to his boss with a view to consider the pleading for construction of Ogugu ~Ofante road.
