The Kogi State Project Coordinator of the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes, ACRESAL, Barr. Ladi Ahmed Jatto OON, has felicitated with the Kogi State Commissioner for Environment and Ecological Management, Engr. Joseph Oluwasegun, on the occasion of his birthday, describing him as a committed public servant and a worthy partner in the drive for environmental sustainability in the state.
In a congratulatory message released in Lokoja on Saturday, Barr. Jatto praised the Commissioner for his visionary leadership and passion for ecological restoration, noting that his stewardship has brought renewed energy to environmental governance in Kogi State.
“Today, we celebrate a man of purpose, a man of ideas, and a man of action,” Barr. Jatto said. “Engr. Joseph Oluwasegun has brought professionalism, clarity and compassion to the Ministry of Environment and Ecological Management. His commitment to protecting our land, combating erosion, promoting climate resilience and ensuring a cleaner Kogi is worthy of commendation.”
The ACRESAL State Project Coordinator highlighted the strong working relationship between ACRESAL and the Ministry of Environment, describing it as one of the driving forces behind the progress being recorded in climate adaptation, watershed management, and community-based environmental interventions across the state.
“Our collaboration with the Ministry under Engr. Oluwasegun has been seamless and result-oriented. He understands the urgency of our mandate and has provided the needed political will and technical support to ensure that ACRESAL delivers maximum impact to our communities,” she stated.
“He is a team player, a bridge-builder, and a leader who listens. In him, we have found a partner who shares our vision of a resilient, green and prosperous Kogi.”
Barr. Jatto, a respected legal practitioner and development expert, described the Commissioner as a jolly good fellow with a heart of humanity, who carries the growth and development of the State at the core of his preoccupation. She noted that his accessibility, humility and dedication to service have earned him the respect of colleagues, stakeholders and the people of Kogi.
“Engr. Oluwasegun embodies the kind of leadership that inspires confidence. He is diligent, he is thoughtful, and he is deliberate about leaving the environment better than he met it. That is the kind of legacy we need in public service today,” she added.
Barr. Jatto prayed for God’s continued wisdom, strength and good health upon the Commissioner as he marks another year, and expressed confidence that under his watch, Kogi will continue to make giant strides in environmental protection and ecological management.
