BEING A TEXT OF PRESS CONFERENCE BY FORUM OF IMMEDIATE PAST POLITICAL OFFICE HOLDERS OF THE 21 LOCAL GOVERNMENT OF KOGI STATE( 2013-2016 SESSION)
A CLARION CALL ON THE EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF KOGI STATE, HIS EXCELLENCY, GOVERNOR YAHAYA BELLO (GYB) TO RUN FOR 2023 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
We members of the above named Forum numbering 512 and our numerous supporters across the 239 wards of kogi state heartily welcome you all to our office in Lokoja, Kogi State.
Gentlemen of the press, it has become imperative to make the resolutions of our end of year general meeting held today, the 13th December, 2021 known to all Nigerians.
The Forum made bold to say that after a critical analysis of the political situations in the country and the need to have a credible, dependable and reliable president that will take over from His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari at the expiration of his tenure come 2023, is passionately calling on the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, ALHAJI YAHAYA BELLO to run for the office of the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the forthcoming 2023 presidential election.
This plea has become necessary due to the fact that Nigeria needs a President that will salvage us from the shackles of poverty, corruption, unemployment, underdevelopment, and above all high level of insecurity.
We have much confident in the ability of Govrnor Yahaya Adoza Bello to put an end to Boko Haram insurgency, Banditry, kidnapping and all other forms of criminalities based on the manners he is handling security situations in Kogi state. Kogi State is today one of the most safest and peaceful states in the country.
Gentlemen of the press, Governor Yahaya Bello has shown to the world that he is capable of uniting this nation, you will be convinced if you take a careful look at his cabinet which is made up of men and women from different parts of this country and different tribes.
It might interest you to know that, Kogi State under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello is the only state in the country that has gone beyond the 35% affirmative for women inclusiveness in governance with majority of his appointees being youth.
As a matter of fact, he has been able to turn around the infrastructural development of Kogi in the area of education, health,road construction, provision of portable water among others . Without mincing words, his developmental stride is unprecedented in the history of Kogi State.
We wish to end this briefing to call on all meaningful Nigerians to support this all-important movement aimed at moving this nation to greatness.
