Dr. Femi Akande, MD/CEO Treasure Bakery, has bagged the Rivers of Joy For Less Privileged/Vulnerable Award.

The award is in his outstanding contributions to the less privileged in the society in Lokoja, Kogi State.

The award was presented to Dr. Akande at the 2025 The Nigerian Post Newspaper in conjunction with the Margaret Ekpo Biographical Centre Calabar Humanitarian Award.

In his remarks, the Editor in Chief The Nigerian Post Newspaper and Registrar Margaret Ekpo Biographical Centre Calabar Lokoja Chapter, Mr. Abu Michael, said the award is in recognition of Dr. Akande’s contributions and positive impacts to the society, particularly with emphasis to his impact in supporting the less privileged, widow’s and people affected by HIV and Aids in Lokoja, Kogi State.

The Editor in Chief lauded his positive impact on the lives of the people, pointing out that the philanthropists stands out as most impactful in putting smiles on the faces of the people.

He lauded his positive impact in the areas of supporting people affected by cancer, his empowerment schemes for women, said he has personally and through other intervention provided succour for the vulnerable in Lokoja.

Making their separate remarks, the Commissioner of Police, Represented by ACP Idris Mohammed, the Rector, Kogi State Polytechnic, Prof Salisu Usman Ogbo and the Special Adviser on Labour Matters Comr Onuh Edoka and others described Dr. Akande as a gift to the people of Lokoja and Kogi State as a whole.
