Contributions To Sports Development in Lokoja, Kogi State.

Coach Amb. Gabriel Abinu has bagged the 2024 award for his outstanding Contributions To Sports Development in Lokoja, Kogi State.

The award was presented to Coach Abinu at the 2025 The Nigerian Post Newspaper in conjunction with the Margaret Ekpo Biographical Centre Calabar Humanitarian Award.

In his remarks, the Editor in Chief The Nigerian Post Newspaper and Registrar Margaret Ekpo Biographical Centre Calabar Lokoja Chapter, said the award is in recognition of Coach Abinu’s contributions and positive impacts to the society, particularly with emphasis to his impact in Lokoja, Kogi State.

He lauded his positive impact on the lives of the people, pointing out that the sports, coach and philanthropists stands out as most impactful in putting smiles on the faces of the people.

He lauded his positive impact in the areas of water provision, education, empowerment schemes for women, said he has personally and through other intervention provided sports infrastructure development in Lokoja.

Making their separate remarks, the Commissioner of Police, Represented by ACP Idris Mohammed, the Rector, Kogi State Polytechnic, Prof Salisu Usman Ogbo and the Special Adviser on Labour Matters Comr Onuh EDOKA and others described Coach Abinu as a gift to the people of Lokoja and Kogi State as a whole.
