Kogi Politics:
History will never forget the man Nda Aaron from Lokoja for being the first person from Kogi West to embrace the vision and aspiration of Alhaji Yahaya Bello for Governor.
We birthed a vision
through toiling Kogi State with Kogi Youth Arise Group, galvanizing grassroots support base for Buhari/Osinbajo in the state.
Whereas, at Buhari Support Group/APC National Secretariat, Kogi Youth Arise Group was rated in category (Grade -A) because of the massive resources mobilization our Chairman Alhaji Yahaya Bello was mobilizing for the party and Buhari/Osinbajo campaign across Kogi and North Central in 2015.
Let it be on record that Kogi State was entirely cold for Buhari/Osinbajo but the coming of Alhaji Yahaya Bello with Kogi Youth Arise Group was the political nuclear reactor that stirred the political atmosphere and awakening in the state. For the first time, Kogites witnessed a new brand style of campaign, quality posters with captivating Buhari/Osinbajo pictures, handbills, flyers with campaign contents, branded tear leather Buses and giant billboards mounted across Kogi State and some parts of North Central.
It was a move that sent shivers down the spines and morrows of Kogi heavyweight politicians, to the point that H.E. Alhaji Yahaya Bello became an obvious threat to their collective ambition 😄 they turned around to nickname him “that corper boy”, and as it’s pleases God, the corper boy, became the Golden Man (Governor).
Honestly, It was a turning point for Kogi Buharists, that we would attend Buhari/Osinbajo meetings or stakeholders engagements and return home with envelopes ( money) 🤣, this is because we had no sponsor.
In fact, after our meeting, we will have to tasked ourselves to pay for the Hall or Venue while some people who traveled from outside Lokoja will struggle to even get transport fare back to their base.
In order not to be disrespectful to those Hotels, we used their facilities. I will decline to mention their names.
However, the coming of Alhaji Yahaya Bello also took us from Hotels you could have considered short time room 🤣 to first class Apartments & Hotels like Dafeyo, Reverton, Saatof and Idrinana, and for us in the kitchen cabinet, our journey didn’t stop at Lokoja Hotels but next destination was Abuja Protea Hotel, Chida Hotel, Sandralia Hotel, this was the Hotel our former Chief of Staff Hon. Asuku first met Alhaji Yahaya Bello, and coincidentally Hon. Segun Olobatoke also had his first meeting with F-GYB same day,
Newton Park Zone 4 was our signature Hotel. In fact, if your path didn’t cross with H.E. Alhaji Yahaya Bello (AYB) at Newton Park, then you ain’t AYBist, but for we in the front line, our journey continued to Transcorp Hilton, the Ivorian Tower of the climax of the novel politics.
When 21 Kogi State APC Party Chairmen were invited to a meeting with Alhaji Yahaya Bello in Transcorp Hilton, their take home was three;
1. They said, since they were made Local Government Party Chairmen, this was the first time someone is recognizing them with this huge amount of money 🤣.
2. What manner of man, and a party man with large heart like Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for not chosen to meet them in Kogi but brought them to Abuja and showed them love and kindness 😄…. this is plus Transcorp Hilton Intercontinental Delicacies not Oja’a Zenebu oje, abacha 😊 but please permit me to slide in…Na money dey talk be that o 😁.
3. They equally said, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has illuminated their faith in making heaven, because if Transcorp Hilton they used to hear it story like a moonlight tale, can be this beautiful, then HEAVEN MUST BE REAL.
And of course, it was there first time in Transcorp Hilton not just for sight and sounds fantasy of a tourists but as Transcorp Hilton guests.
Why this short stories?
Well, today is my BIRTHDAY and I didn’t feel like celebrating it despite seeing well wishers posts on social media, calls and SMS but the moments Facebook popped up this memories, i was compelled to refresh our minds, struggles, toils, and history with this graphic, pictures and captions of 2015 Kogi Youth Arise Group campaigns tour to Okunland, myself Nda Aaron with Late Hon. Ade Ismail former Kogi State APC Treasurer, and Kogi State Commissioner from Ijumu (RIP); For those who grace have found them in a better position, placement or juicy appointments, they should reflect on our journey, because life is like a tail of horses, wrapped in time, and season, for this God says, when the time is right, the Lord will make it happen.
As such, don’t use your today grace to disgrace others.
For this, Nda Aaron in a SYSTEM POLITICAL FAMILY built by H.E. Alhaji Yahaya Bello, is a story of Lokoja born Nupe man, full of commitment, dedication, devotion, and faith.
Nda Aaron is a perfect demonstration of the political action words that says ” Blood doesn’t guarantee loyalty, but watch actions, not just titles because true kinship is earned not assumed.
We must continue to thank God and H.E. F-GYB for given us H.E. Governor Ododo, a man with sense of history and conscience.
This is why i gave my all to his elections, and litigation throughout the Tribunal, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court, despite all the insults from the Igala Agendaist against my person and family. This is because he’s a man with sense of history of our toils and struggles, and he has been demonstrating this in the SYSTEM POLITICAL FAMILY way back 2016 -2023 before he become Governor, as a original system member. While you will be struggling to see those that grace has found to no avail or with disappointing outcome, H. E. Governor Ododo will be the one looking at for you to put smile on your face.
In the word of Hon Ali Bello Atimpo, Chief of Staff to Governor Ododo ” Nda Aaron, it’s good to see you again, infact your presence remind me of our past toils, struggles and history”
This is an honest testimony from a man with conscience and history.
IT’S My BIRTHDAY but I dedicate this political commentary to the memory of one of our fallen hero of a new Kogi State, Hon Ade Ismail, the Ijumu Ayegulegbede Political Iroko.
