Cross River: Governor Otu approves N70,000 minimum wage
The Governor of Cross River State, Senator (Prince) Bassey Edet Otu, has announced the approval of N70,000 as the new minimum wage for workers in the state.
The announcement followed a closed door meeting the governor had with leaders of the various labour bodies in the state on Sunday night.
The Cross River helmsman reiterated his commitment to the welfare of workers in the state, which he said, remains a top priority in his administration.
A post made on the Facebook page of the governor to announce the development reads: “Following a productive closed door meeting with Labour leaders today, I am pleased to announce the approval of N70,000 as the new minimum wage for workers in our dear state, along with consequential adjustments.
“The welfare of our workers remains a top priority for this administration. Together, we build a better Cross River State.”
