Information Commissioners of APC States pass vote of confidence in Governor Otu

The Honourable Commissioners for Information of states controlled by All Progressives Congress (APC) have passed a vote of confidence in the administration of Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State, at the strategy meeting of the group held in Calabar, the state capital, on 29th and 30th of August, 2024, under the auspices of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF).

This was disclosed in a publication titled: “The Dynamic Leadership of Governor Bassey Edet Otu: A Testament to Visionary Governance in Cross River State”, and authored by the Director General (DG) of PGF, Mr. Folorunso Aluko, who attended the meeting of the APC Information Commissioners with his team.

Aluko said before reaching the decision to pass a vote of confidence in Otu’s government, the group of Information Commissioners of APC states and the PGF programme team, had went round to see some of the numerous meaningful projects embarked upon by the governor, in the last one year and about three months that his administration came on board.

“As we toured the various project sites and engaged with a cross-section of Calabar’s residents, one thing became clear: there is an overwhelming sense of admiration and support for their governor, Senator Bassey Edet Otu. It is no surprise, considering the transformative strides his administration has made in just one year. The accomplishments of Governor Bassey Otu are not just seen; they are felt deeply by the people of Cross River State, who are witnessing first-hand the profound changes his leadership has brought about,” Aluko averred.

He said “After witnessing the impressive array of projects and hearing directly from the people, the PGF Programme Team and Honourable Commissioners of Information of APC-controlled States unanimously passed a vote of confidence in Governor Otu’s government. They commended his sterling leadership and remarkable performance, recognizing his efforts in steering Cross River State towards greater heights of prosperity and development.”

The DG PGF noted that “As we look to the future, there is an optimistic assurance that Governor Bassey Edet Otu will continue to deliver on his promises and even exceed expectations. His administration has set a solid foundation for sustainable development, and there is no doubt that more transformative projects are on the horizon. The people of Cross River State are encouraged to continue supporting his policies and programs, as they are designed to foster growth, enhance welfare, and secure a prosperous future for all.”

He described Otu’s leadership as “a shining example of visionary governance. His administration has not only delivered tangible results in terms of infrastructure development, economic growth, and social welfare, but it has also inspired hope and confidence among the people. As we journey together towards a brighter future, let us all rally behind Governor Otu and his team, knowing that under his leadership, Cross River State is on a path to greatness.”
