Sen. Karimi Trains Women Cooperative Societies Ahead Release of N100m Cooperative Societies Empowerment Scheme in Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency.
Women of Kogi West Senatorial District, particularly those from Kabba Bunu Ijumu Federal Constituency, today attended a capacity Building Workshop Training at Kabba, for Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency.
The Obaro of Kabba, Chairman Okun Traditional Council, Oba Solomon Owoniyi who was elated at the training, expressed gratitude to Sen. Sunday Karimi for his approach towards empowering women, youths at the grassroots
The Royal father described such empowerment as “the best approach of all time, said “Sen. Karimi is not just giving people money but he is painstakingly impacting knowledge, ideas and start up capital that will help them grow their businesses”.
Speaking on behalf of the women of the federal constituency, the Coordinator of Kabba-Bunu LG, Mrs. Titilayo Omotola appreciated the Senator for not reneging on his promises of empowering the women to relieve them of pressure in meeting and ensuring that their basic daily needs are met and cared for.
She also appreciated the wife of the Senator, Mrs. Stellamaris Karimi for fighting the cause of the women folk at all times and for keeping to her words of ensuring that the women of Kogi West are carried along in the representation.
In her remarks, Mrs Stellamaris Karimi, the wife of the Senator wished the women well, promising her continued love and association for the prosperity and development of women across Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu and Kogi West at large.
The Coordinator of the empowerment scheme, Hon Mrs Bola Olorunsaiye emphasized the need for the women to take full advantages of the scheme by strictly using the grants for the purpose of wealth creation.
The Resource Person, Mr Dokun Jeremiah exposed the participants to the rudiments on modern but simple business techniques that will help them stay afloat in their businesses.
The sum of One Hundred Million (#100,000,000) is set to be disbursed to fifty registered Women Cooperative Societies across Kogi West in the scheme as facilitated by Senator Sunday Karimi as part of his effort to build capacity and improve business activities across the district.
About 165 participants were captured for the federal constituency, while about 180 participants were in attendance.
Prayers and songs of joy and encomium were showered on the Senator and his wife
