
Appointment of Ward Special Assistants, Gov Ododo “a grassroots mover”-Hon Abdulrasaq Ijagbemi

Hon Abdulrasaq Ijagbemi is the immediate past Chairman of Yagba East LGA. A grassroots politician who sees his hometown Isanlu, the headquarters of the LGA as his own London, has hailed Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo on the appointment of Ward Special Assistants across the State.
The former Chairman described the appointment of Ward Special Assistants by Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo as another opportunity to deepen political and economic growth at the Grassroots level of government.
Hon. Abdulrasaq described the appointments as one in the right direction, pointing out that it will afford the people of the community, towns and districts to fit into government.
He added that true development is one that is grassroots centered, reason why the decision by Gov. Ododo to stir grassroots movement needs to be applauded.
” What is a grassroots movement?. It is a movement that uses the people in a given district, region or community as the basis for a political or economic movement”.
“Grassroots movements and organizations uses collective action from the local level to implement changes at the local, regional, National, or International levels”.
The development to therefore appoint Ward Special Assistants across the 239 Wards of the State by Gov. Ododo is not only a feat unprecedented, but has the propensity to bring development to the grassroots and doorsteps of the people.
” Let me commend Gov. Ododo. Since his assumption of office, he has made deliberate policies that has direct bearings on the lives of the people”.
