NG CARES: Kogi Govt. Reiterates Commitment To Well-being of PWDs

The Kogi State Government has reiterated it resolve to make life meaningful for the people at the grassroots, particularly people with disabilities through the Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency.

The State Governments made the disclosure at the flag off Ogori Magongo Vulnerable Persons Arcade, said the administration will continue to give priority to Persons with Disabilities.

Represented by the General Manager, KCSDA, Chief Momoh Dauda, said the administration will give equal treatment to all persons in the State.

Earlier, the hairman of the Ogori-Magongo PWD, Comrade Abdulganiyu Farouq Isyak praised Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo, described the duo of Chief Dauda O. Momoh, the General Manager of the Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency and the Governor as rural community liberators, whose leadership is funding projects in the 21 LGA’s hard to reach poor communities and groups.

The Chairman said the Ogori Magongo Vulnerable Persons Arcade is being proposed as a legacy project.

Comade Abdulganiyu, appealed to good spirited individuals to rally round the group’s legacy projects which according to him, when completed, the arcade would respond to the heath, social and the educational needs of the people of the area with particular concentration on persons with special needs.

The Ogori Magongo Vulnerable Persons Arcade called for the support for Gov Ododo and urged the GM KCSDA as people who have passion for PWD.

In their separate remarks, the hosts, Magongo Development Association National President, Mr Jordan Akpata and the representative of Ogori Descendants Union (ODU), Deacon Jonathan Ade Ojo, jointly appreciated the Agency for their developmental projects in Ogori Magongo LGA, particularly the library built and commissioned in Ogori; the ongoing Corpers Lodge in Magongo; describing the various PWD flagged off projects in Ogori Magongo as concrete testament to the efforts of His Excellency, Alh. Ahmed Usman ODODO, the Executive Governor of Kogi State at funding the propelled World Bank/State state Government partnership programmes.

The duo then thanked HE Ahmed Usman ODODO and Chief Dauda Momoh, the General Manager Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency for his passion and enthusiasm towards development at the grassroot.

On her part, the Transition Chairperson of Ogori Magongo LGA, Hon Rosemary Ohiezu who was represented by Hon Godwin Alao, Secretary to the Council commended the efforts of the PWD for attracting such huge projects from Kogi State government and World Bank to the LGA and said the doors of the Chairperson were always open and ready to collaborate with PWD and the NG-CARES towards attracting more projects to the LGA. Ohiezu described HE Ahmed Usman ODODO government as an inclusive participatory one that requires all hands to be on decks in order to move the state forward.

In his reaction, Hon. Ojo ATURU, Special Adviser on Good Governance and Due Process to HE Ahmed Usman ODODO who also represented the Governor, urged the leadership of Comrade Abdulganiyu Farouq Isyak, Chairman PWD Ogori Magongo to continue on his efforts at attracting this uncommon projects to the communities which he described as first of its kind in the state.
