
Gov. Ododo promises to sustain cordial relationship existing between Government and labour

The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo has promised to sustain the cordial relationship existing between Government and labour in the State.

The Governor gave the assurances while declaring open the North Central Zonal Council Meeting of the Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations, Civil Service Technical and Recreational Services Employees AUPCTRE holding in the State.

The Governor who was represented by the Special Adviser on Labor Matters, Comr. Onuh Edoka said his administration will prioritize the welfare of workers in the State.

Gov. Ododo assured that all will be done to ensure that the State workers get what is due to them, described his engagement of past labour leaders into his cabinet as a deliberate effort to ensure that workers welfare and demand are giving priority.
Gov. Ododo assured that the State is on the verge of transformation, said very soon the State would become a centre of infrastructure development.
He commended the support his administration has enjoyed thus far from the labour and workers in the State, solicited more of such synergy as a way of sustaining the cordial relationship existing between Government, labour and workers in the State.
Earlier in his welcome remarks, the State Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress, Comr Amari Gabriel said the relationship existing between Government and Labor in the State is unprecedented, praised the present administration for making the welfare of workers a priority.
Also speaking, the State Chairman of AUPCTRE, Comr. Ahmed Enesi Dauda, described the present administration of Gov Ododo as labour friendly, commended the Government for prompt payment of salaries for the State and Local Government workers in the State.
